FAVORITE SHIPS

Whenever I need to think about something, I think about my favorite ships. These ships make me giddy and happy and I like to dream up scenarios for them.

MAEBEA
Mae Borowski x Beatrice Santello

These disaster adults were once very close in their teenage years. They were inseparable, bound to the hip. Walking down narrow fences, getting slushies from the Snack Falcon after class, poking at worms with sticks and playing video games until the sun would rise. At least, until Mae started disassociating to an unhealthy degree and lost connection with all of her friends in college as a result. When Mae finally comes back to Possum Springs, Bea's trauma and apathy had warped her into a far sadder version of herself. One that can't even think about Mae fumbling the opportunity to go to college without bursting into a fit of frustration and rage, feeling cheated by life. They constantly bumped heads and couldn't seem to get to the same page at the beginning, but with time, journaling, and many up-and-down hangouts they steadily were able to rekindle their friendship. Despite them both sinking in their own problems they're able to be each other's string of logic and a fresh change of perspective. With this development, they realize that maybe they can make things work, together. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean that the ride is smooth. Problems don't get solved in a day and involves lots of squabbling and self-reflection that depressed and stressed people just dont have the energy to have some days.

Phoenix Wright literally dedicated his whole life to finding out what has been haunting his childhood friend. His dedication to helping a troubled soul who's had to shut off all feeling is truly intense. Despite being rivals in the courthouse they have stood up for each other time and time again, which has started to form cracks in Edgeworth's impenetrable and highly guarded walls. With each case they battle over, with every strange mystery, with every hospital visit, they start to find the place in each other's heart. Time sways them into each other's arms and they find a home full of bickering, teasing, and warm hugs.

Fenrich's undying loyalty to his lord is nothing short of obsessive. He can't stand women who flirt with him, he won't tolerate people who stand inbetween him and his lord, and he most certainly won't admit he's gay in public. But Fenrich is so in love with the bumbling, honest, stupidly powerful vampire he calls a master that he has automatically assumes that they are already in vows, "till death do us part." Valvatorez himself is less blatant about his affection but he cares about his servant and values him as an equal. He would easily avenge Fenrich with world-shaking power without hesitation. The situation, as it stands, is that they have spent so many centuries together that they have fallen into a marriage-like relationship by default. They are in a romantic relationship without really even realizing it because it's really all they've ever known since meeting eachother. Besides, there's nothing wrong with a late-night cuddle between a vampire and a werewolf- it strengthens their bond for battle the next day!

Pearl and Marina are idols who found love through their shared passion of music and the rush of freedom it pumps through their inkfish veins. Marina had nothing to her name when she left Octoling society. No family, no home, and no place to call her own. Walking around Inkling society as an Octoling was scary enough and it certainly didn't help that she was directly responsible for some of the dangerous technology Octotroops used in the many wars against Inklings. However, Pearl took her in without any judgement as she saw the purity in Marina's heart and knew that all she wanted was to create and unite people through good jams. Pearl and Marina lived together from the very beginning of their musical endeavours together since Pearl had way too much empty space in her mansion. Which meant making burnt breakfasts for eachother, hugging before bed, and Marina writing love letters and drawing Pearl as though she were a princess- no- a queen. Their successful career only brought them closer to the point where one can not exist without the other. Marina, of course, plasters Pearl all over her laptop, phone, and room so that she is never without her best friend and cutest little Pearlie.

I won't lie this one is a bit of crackship lol.
The two goobers crush on each other in secret. They're cute together with Finn being awfully pathetic while carrying the brains, and the steadfast Mash who carries the brawn for the both of them. Finn finds Mash very inspiring in his devotion to what he believes must be done, even if it involves beating people up with tennis rackets. Mash, while he is mostly inattentive about people's feelings towards him, feels a sort of motivation from his dear friend. Knowing Finn is always cheering him on makes him even more determined to punch through all of the world's problems.Mash is always happy to bake and share cream puffs with everyone, especially Finn to say thanks for his companionship. Their feelings are childish and flutter like butterflies in their chests; too nervous to say anything and yet too dense to catch on.
